Abstract

The problem addressed in the article concerns an aspect of scenologie as an art and as a science of staging performances. The artistic image of theatrical discourse is presented from the perspective of space-time and atmosphere, created in the performance „Froken Julie” by August Strindberg in the vision of director Luminiţa Ţâcu, a performance staged at the “Mihai Eminescu” National Theater in Chişinău. The research methodology is created based on the concepts of space-time, atmosphere in theatrical performance, with reference to the ideas expressed by M. Chekhov, P. Pavis, etc. Starting from the idea that the space of the performance determined the style of interpretation and the reception of the theatrical approach in different periods, we emphasize the role of the director’s artistic vision in the way the dramaturgical text is received and, respectively, the valences of the performance in the audience’s reception. The playwright’s concepts about the new drama and this text of his are also highlighted, demonstrating, through the analysis of the creation of space-time and the actor’s theatricality, the polysemantic and polyfunctional meanings of the scenes, the relationship between stage communication and theatrical communication.
